Golden Peanuts and Tree nuts Oil allergy

Updated: Jul 7, 2023

Good Morning Brandon,

I will send you some material in a separate email you can refer to, but FDA states that highly refined oils are allergen exempt.

The refining process denaturals and removes any protein material that might be in the oil and therefore doesn’t have the allergen issue associated with peanut protein (whole peanuts or peanut butter or flour products).

There are some peanut oils on the grocery shelf that are unrefined – these are the small bottles that usually found along with the specialty oils that are known as roasted , aromatic oils and these oils (including some peanut oil) are only filtered and not highly refined.

Peanut oil found in the club stores like Sams, Costco, Walmart as well as most found in grocery stores and the peanut oil used by Chick-fil-A and Five Guys for instance will be highly (fully) refined peanut oil and therefore allergen exempt.

Hope this help

Brandon,

We follow GMPs, have HACCP systems in place, we are BRC certified with AA rating and are audited every year.

Our process is an enclosed system so from the final step in the refining process the oil is pumped into our storage /loadout tank and then piped direct into the vessel being loaded (car or trucks) and loading takes place within a closed building.

Are you buying in bulk or packaged oil?

What is your current application and source of supply of peanut oil?

Thanks,

Mike

Fully understand Brandon. We want everyone to be safe whether it’s our product, or a similar product from others in the food industry.

Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts Company and ADM (we are owned by Archer Daniels Midland company) rank both personal safety and food safety as top priorities in our everyday life and work for both our employees and customers.

Our oil refinery building and loadout building is nut free.

Since we do not package oil that you would find in the club stores, grocery stores, nor that foodservice companies such as Sysco would supply to restaurants, I can’t speak for other facilities. I would refer you to product labels and beyond that you as a parent would have to determine whether to expose your child to products cooked in peanut oil. Understand and support your child’s safety as your first priority.

You might want to refer to Chick-fil-A and/or Five Guys Hamburgers websites as I’m sure they also address allergen concerns since they both cook in refined peanut oil.
