We would like to use your products and have concern of cross contamination. We have a child that is allergic to tree nuts, peanuts and cocnuts and wanted to know if your plian vanilla soy dessert, is made in the same facility with the almond products, is on the same line, is there possible cross contamination?
please advise
thanks
Brandon
Hello Brandon,
As So Delicious Dairy Free has grown to become a leading dairy-free food producer, we have developed a better understanding of what you, as consumers of our products, need and want. We have facilities that make certain products. For example, our beverages are not made in the same facility as our cultured milks and frozen desserts. We also have dedicated lines for our cultured milks and ones for our frozen desserts, and they do not run on the same lines either! We do not produce almond products the same day we produce coconut or soy products!
We know that not only do many of you have issues with dairy, but other food allergens as well. That is why our Quality Assurance department has developed a leading Allergen Prevention program that utilizes state of the art testing methods. We apply strict quality control measures in an effort to prevent contamination by undeclared food allergens. To assure our preventive measures are effective, we sample test our products for the presence of dairy, gluten, peanut, soy, tree nut (almond, coconut, pecan, walnut) using state of the art testing methods)
WE CARE TO MAKE THE COMPLICATED 'EASY' FOR YOU
It is our policy to exclude all known allergens from our products unless they are known constituents of an ingredient. In order to provide you with the critical information you may need, we regularly update the following Product Allergen Lists. We have been serving the food-sensitive and food-allergic community for nearly twenty years. Providing safe and delicious foods to those with food sensitivities is truly foundational for our company, so allergen testing and quality assurance is paramount for us. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires food manufacturers to list eight common allergens on food label and our allergen tests include those top eight foods and food groups. In regards to corn, our natural flavors come from botanicals and extracts from natural sources. They can be comprised of many or just a few compounds that are extracted from plants, fruits, and beans. We purchase our natural flavors from only a handful of companies with whom we have developed a trusting relationship. As a key component of our non-GMO project compliance we strive to identify and utilize ingredients that are not corn based.
We believe that we are doing an outstanding job at ensuring safe and delicious products, but we wanted to get additional input from outside teams. So, several years ago, we invited FAAN, the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network, to review our allergen and cross-contamination prevention program. They praised our program and today all of the facilities that we work with have instituted our strict regimen to ensure safe products. FAAN was so pleased with our work that we currently sample our products at more than 60 of their events each year!
For any of our consumers with allergens and sensitivities, we suggest checking with your medical or allergist specialist before consuming any So Delicious Dairy Free products.
I hope this information is helpful, puts your mind at ease, and encourages you to enjoy So Delicious Dairy Free!
Have a great day,
